Hi, I’m Mel. Welcome to my Little Terraced House. My partner Oli and I moved in in February 2017 and we have been – slowly, slowly – making our house into a home. We were joined by our cat Pheebs in 2018 and our baby boy Léo in 2020.
I started my blog when we moved into our first owned-home. I’d always dreamed of doing up a period property and whilst it’s certainly not always as fun as I’d have liked, I’ve learnt a lot along the way. We have been ripped off and we have found amazing tradespeople. We have had DIY disasters and created a bin shed worthy of TV (literally, I finally got on Gardeners’ World in 2020!). We have learnt to decode paint pots and work out what gear we need and what we really don’t. I document my journey in pictures on my Instagram account, so do pop by and say hi over there as well!
I’ve even learned to love gardening! I couldn’t keep anything alive when we moved in. Now we have a beautiful outdoor space to call our own. And honestly, it’s easier than you think! It’s almost as if these plants want to live!
I love getting creative at home and I am obsessed with interior design and interior styling. I would just as soon upcycle something as treat myself to a ‘hero product’. There’s no place for fast-interiors in this day and age.
Most of all, I just really want to share our journey and ‘meet’ likeminded people who love an interiors mag as much as me.
